JUDGING CRITERIA AND MARKING
Canada Wide Science Fair (CWSF) guidelines allow 3 different types of projects:Experiment - An investigation undertaken to test a scientific hypothesis using experiments. Experimental variables, if identified, are controlled to some extent.
Study - A collection and analysis of data to reveal evidence of a fact or a situation of scientific interest. It could include a study of cause and effect relationships or theoretical investigations of scientific data.
Innovation - A project involving the development and evaluation of innovative devices, models or techniques or approaches in fields such as technology, engineering, or computers (both hardware and software)
In addition to these 3 CWSF types of projects, the Peterborough Regional Science Fair allows demonstration type projects in the Primary and Elementary divisions.
All projects will be evaluated using the marking scheme shown below.

Marks will be assigned in each of these areas using the marking rubric which you can download in PDF format.
